Rethink Technology. Rethink Connection.

Let's reacquaint ourselves with running our own services — practical, friendly, and people-first.

Hello — digital freedom starts when people host their own data and services. At 5yth3lement we make self-hosting approachable: we teach, build simple tooling, and guide people through federated, mesh, and decentralized setups. Free and open-source software already exists — our job is to make it easy to install, run, and maintain for anyone, whatever their technical background.

Mission

Rethink Technology. Rethink Connection. We empower people to run their own digital services and participate in resilient, community-led networks. Through hands-on guides, approachable tools, and clear teaching, we make self-hosting practical — not intimidating.

Projects

MySite — Modular Interactive Setup Guide & GUI

A polished, consumer-first Interactive guid that generates configuration, nginx config files, and Docker Compose files to run a personal server stack. Guided steps, sensible defaults, and automated checks remove the friction of self-hosting.

Outcomes: reduce setup time from hours to minutes; provide safe defaults; create reproducible personal stacks that are easy to update and back up.

Target users: non-technical to intermediate users who want a comfortable, low-friction entry into self-hosting. Tech stack examples: Docker Compose, opinionated templates, optional reverse-proxy setup.

MeshL2 — Decentralized Addressing & Routing & Addressing

A next-generation routing protocol for the decentralized web. Identities are anchored in NFTs and secured by cryptographic keys, ensuring permanence and trust without central control. Anyone can participate by running a route node—no permissions required.

Outcomes: a practical identity + routing stack for all networks; improved resilience and censorship resistance; simpler peer discovery.

Target users: privacy-minded communities, small orgs and developer contributors. Tech: NFT-based identity anchors, pluggable routing nodes, open specs.
